Cupping:
*Manual technique
*Treats soft tissue, skin, muscles
* Used for:
*Softening tight muscle
* Loosen adhesions
* Lift connective tissue
*Suction and negative pressure helps to loosen muscles, encourage blood flow and quiet the nervous system
Tools:
IASTM (Graston, Scraping):
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
*Use of a specific set of tools to break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions in soft tissue such as muscle, ligaments, tendons and nerves
*The tools provide a controlled microtrauma to the tissue which stimulates and inflammatory response. This response sends signals to the body to absorb the scar tissue and send in new, healthy tissue in its place

Dry Needling:
*Performed by certified Physical Therapists
*Uses a thin mono-filament needle to penetrate the skin and underlying tissues to treat trigger points (knots)
*Treats neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments
*Treatment based on movement patterns, posture, pain, function and orthopedic assessments
Tools:
Therapeutic Ultrasound:
*A vibrating crystal creates ultrasound waves that are directed into the tissues through the ultrasound head
*Increases blood flow and cavitation to improve healing
*A small amount of gel is applied to the body part and the ultrasound head is moved around in a small area. You will most likely not feel anything during this treatment.

Joint Manipulations:
*Short, quick movements on a joint by the Physical Therapist with the intent to reduce pain and improve joint mobility
*Also known as a chiropractic adjustment
Example:
Joint Mobilizations:
*Slow movements of the joint within its normal range of motion
*Goal is to improve joint mobility and relieve pain
Example:
Electrical Stimulation:
(E-stim, TENS, NMES)
*Application of electricity into the body through a sticky patch
*Intent is to increase or decrease nerve activity in a particular area
*Improve circulation
*Re-educate the nervous system
*May experience vibrations, muscle movement,

Soft Tissue Mobilization (Massage):
*Manipulation of the muscles, ligaments, and fascia using hands, fingers, elbows, etc. to break up adhesions or trigger points
*Goal is pain relief through tissue mobility and function
*Commonly known as massage
